Revamp Champs Entry #21: Closet to Craft Room– Kate Hanavan, Portland, ME

We took an old storage room that was used as a closet and turned it into an art space/craft room. This was a room that needed a revamp for sure.

The previous owners had used it as a closet and collect-all room and since it didn’t have any electrical outlets or lighting it was kind of a forgotten space. Since my husband had claimed the unfinished back part of our house for his wood workshop, I felt it was due time that I had my own creative space. And with that the old forgotten closet became my artsy, craftsy, happy place! With the help of my handy hubby we repaired the walls and primed and painted, mounted an L-shaped work desk and accented it with border wallpaper that was actually left over scraps from a friend’s house, painted two accent walls to match the wallpaper, hung a utility pegboard to organize supplies, and wired in electrical for outlets and a center hanging light. The improvements have added so much color and life to this room and it’s actually the room that gets the most complements when friends visit!

So jealous! I love all of this… from the peg board to the color you chose. I want one of these rooms!
