Revamp Champs Entry #03: Cottage Headboard– Tricia Foley, Portland, ME

I just loved completing this project for my daughter’s bedroom. She is 7 and was having a hard time sleeping in her messy room.

Her bed has a metal frame and I really wanted a beautiful and affordable headboard. I wanted a cottage like look.

I bought some pre- primed boards and had them cut to size. I secured the boards together with the longer boards on the sides and brackets throughout the back. The hardware store helped me select just the right sized screws do they wouldn’t show through the front. The metal frame had a slot in it where I simply slid the long ends of the headboard into. I ordered a wall decal for her name for that extra special touch! I hope you love it as much as we do😊 I also painted her walls and trim to freshen up the look

I did this all by myself! It took me about 6 hrs to complete.

She is still working on sleeping in her room but she sure does enjoy showing it off to her friends😊
