I sided my garage with 10″ pine shiplap, installed a new windows and trim…
We revamped look of fireplace area by removing old tiles, putting up new tiles, sanding & painting mantel, changing sconces; and creating a “diorama” with work of a Maine artist as backdrop and Moose sculpture in opening “cove” above fireplace [see detail photo of diorama below]
I did a renovation of a 1st floor powder room and I am especially happy with the sink area…
We where looking for a way to set up a home office with lots of table work space, storage, and a vintage vibe and found these old Steelcase desks on Craigslist for under $100. They had been in storage after their time at an insurance agency had long since passed, we even found old office phone directories inside the drawers.
I recently redid my outside deck and railings. I liked the size of my deck, but didn’t use it much because it felt very enclosed with the old railings. The deck paint and railing paint was worn and flaking off. It needed a face lift.
I bought my hours 5 years ago and couldn’t stand the master bathroom. It was probably pretty sweet in the 80s but I cringed every time I walked in. It had pink and blue flowery wallpaper that had faded from sun exposure, hideous yellow and pink linoleum flooring and a builder-grade vanity with cultured marble top.
This piece did not look like much when we started, but we had to try since it was owned originally by our grandfather’s father.
Our previous owners “rolled out the red carpet” for us so to speak, all the way up our stairs and the landing of our second floor. Nice gesture but red is just not our color and we wanted to bring it back to a more original look…
I wanted to hide a treadmill that we have, so I bought an old TV armoire on Craigslist and disassembled it.
We recently purchased our first home on St. John’s Street and have been renovating it ourselves since last December. The renovations included attacking the downstairs bathroom.
